Edelle McMahon's Album Launch

Edelle McMahon, our daughter, now living in Belfast will launch her new Album in the Four Seasons Hotel, Monaghan, on Wednesday, April 4th 2018. The Album entitled 'Adventures in Narcissism' was launched to a full house in the Accidental Theatre in Belfast recently and it has received rave reviews from the music industry, not just in Northern Ireland, but also from mainland Britain as can be seen below. The Monaghan launch will see her perform with a full band and the guest artist is the famous 'Dangerous Harpist', musician and comedian, Ursula Burns, who will certainly entertain you.

The doors open at 7.30pm on April 4th and the show begins at 8.00pm. Tickets, costing €10, are available from reception or from myself or any family member or indeed pay at the door.

Adventures in Narcissism. “It’s actually not all about me, I just loved the title. It made me laugh!” insists singer songwriter Edelle McMahon.
It’s the tongue in cheek title of her new album, a five-year culmination of writing and recording, that has already garnered rave reviews from journalists, bloggers and radio presenters.

Edelle will bring her full band show to the Four Seasons Hotel in Monaghan on Wednesday 4 April, with support from Dangerous Harpist, Ursula burns.
The Emyvale songstress, now resident in Belfast, has come along way from the 10-year-old who was given a guitar as a birthday present. Last year she took the bold and brave step to become a full-time professional musician, but she has never forgotten her roots.
“I grew up in the north Monaghan trad & folk scene in the 80s,” she explains. “I loved Irish dancing and I went to guitar lessons every Saturday and sang in the church choir on Sundays. I really owe so much to Gerard McQuaid who believed in me and taught me what it is to be a performer.”
McMahon however is under no illusion just how difficult it is to pay the bills as a musician living and working in Ireland. “I left a good job in IT but for me the album and the decision to turn professional is a personal achievement. I never thought I would be a legit musician and it means so much to be accepted by my colleagues and peers. No regrets!”
“I came late into the song-writing business in my early 30s as I didn’t think I had anything to say. I have had help from my co-writers, Jim Johnston and my former band-mate Paul Wilkinson from Jackson Cage.”
“Recording started back in February 2015 in Michael Mormecha’s studio in Lisburn and as it’s entirely self-funded, I really had no deadlines to meet. It was wonderful to have Michael’s input into the production side of things.”
At the launch, Edelle will play the full album to what is expected to be a sell-out audience at the Four Seasons Hotel.
Tickets for the launch can be purchased from the hotel reception
