Community Services Programme Notes:


NEXT WEEKLY SOCIAL DINNER & DANCE:   takes place Monday 9th October in The Blackwater Learning Centre at 1pm. Freshly prepared three-course meal served, which includes a choice of main course and dessert, followed by live music.  Bus transport is available on request in the Truagh and Donagh areas for an extra €5.00 return.  

HOME MEAL DELIVERY SERVICE: We can arrange for a freshly cooked meal to be delivered to your door in the Truagh Donagh area.  This service is available on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays at €5.00 per meal, including delivery.  For further details please phone Bronagh or Angela 047 87055 / 089 2268469.

SOMETHING COMPLETELY DIFFERENT: thanks to funding support from Monaghan County Council we have put together a theatre and dinner package for the over 55s for Sat 14th October.  Bus pick up at the Blackwater Centre and in Emyvale, followed by dinner in the Neighbourhood restaurant and entrance to “It’s Wine O’Clock”, a play about a typical Irish wedding in the Garage Theatre.  All for a total cost of €35.  Contact Angela or any of the team on 047 87055/089 2268469 for further details and reservations.

Introduction to Beauty.  Dates: Wednesday 18th Oct - 15th Nov. Time: 7pm-10pm (note: no class 1st Nov due to mid-term break). Cost €20 per person for this 4 week course
History of the Rossmores and Leslies - Dates: Tuesday 7th Nov 2017 - 12th Dec.  Time: 7pm-10pm. Cost €30 per person for 6 week course at the Blackwater Valley Learning Centre, Knockconan, Emyvale.  Contact 047 87049 to book your place.

New Support Service for Carers in North Monaghan
Truagh Development Association is now providing a Home Care Support Service in the North Monaghan area. This is a flexible support service for full-time carers looking after a loved one and who would need time to do personal errands. This confidential service is provided by our Homecare Support Worker, Bronagh McConnell.  This support service is provided at €15 per hour, including travel to your home. ARTISAN BAKERY: freshly baked artisan breads, scones and tarts available from the Blackwater Valley Learning Centre from 1pm to 4pm every Monday (except bank holidays).

TRU IRISH: Who doesn't love a good bargain, especially when it's supporting local businesses. Truagh Development Association launches its latest venture, Tru Irish, on Monday 16th October. Tru Irish is an online shop selling beautiful homewear, fashion, jewellery and so much more. Everything is either Truagh made, Monaghan made or Irish made!

OUTSIDE-CATERING SERVICES:  Truagh Development Association’s Community Services Programme offers an outside-catering service for all occasions where freshly prepared food is delivered directly to your event.  Communions, Confirmations, birthday parties or celebrations, big or small, the Community Services Programme can look after all your catering needs. We supply the food, glasses, crockery and cutlery and can also serve it too if you wish, so you can relax and enjoy your special occasion and leave the rest to us.  Contact Fiona/Mary t: 047 87049 / 87055 for further information.

BLACKWATER VALLEY SUPPORT & ADVICE CENTRE provides support to the over 55s in your area.  The services provided includes home visitation/befriending service, good morning call service, community library service, message in a bottle, support and advice on form filling, e.g. medical card and advice on crime prevention, keeping you safe in your home.  This service enables the over 55s to live independently in their community.  Please note our Community Support Workers will never visit your house unannounced, this service is by appointment only. Contact Bronagh or Angela on 047 87049 / 87055 for further information and advice on the range of services provided.
