Vintage Car Run 2018

Members of the Vintage Car section of Monaghan Veteran and Vintage Club held a Vintage Car Run on Sunday, March 11th leaving from the Four Seasons Hotel at 11.30am. Almost 20 cars turned out and the weather was kind for the run. The journey took the cars down to Emyvale and then to Mullan village and out on to the Caledon/Aughnacloy road having crossed at Ballagh Bridge. Then it was off to Aughnacloy and to Augher and a left turn before Clogher took them up the old Monaghan road to Tydavnet and hence to Knockatallon for the very popular lunch in the Sliabh Beagh Hotel. After that it was back to base and off to home. It was a very successful outing with a couple of mechanical problems but they were sorted and all was well. This idea of a car run could also be organised for modern cars as a way of bringing people together and having the lunch and the chat and also seeing some parts of the area where some have never been. A little briefing and notes for the journey and short explanation of some sites/areas/buildings of interest could be included on the map for the occupants to read and watch out for - just and idea!!!
Some of those in the Vintage Run are pictured below and we hope to have a short clip of video of the cars as they leave the Four Seasons Hotel. The Link:
