BACK

Gymnastics is making a big brreak through in the county and lots of youngsters are attending Gymnastic classes and taking part in the Community Games. Never before were there so many teams from various areas competing. Donagh, Truagh and Tyholland teams have been practicing hard recently and some have already qualified. Aisling McCartin, Mary Sherry have qualified for Truagh in the U11's while Aoife McKenna and Aoibheann McNamee finished 2nd and 3rd.

Qualifiers from Donagh Parish in U9's were in 1st place Liana McConnon, 2nd Megan Connolly, 3rd Caoimhe Smyth and 4th Madison Fitzpatrick.

1st and 2nd in U13's for Truagh were Sarah Mc Kenna and Kaila Mohan and 1st in U15 girls for Truagh was Keva Treanor and in 2nd place was Katie Treanor.

Tyholland has a number of finalists in the U9 girls, who competed in Killeevan.

There were four competitions in total this year for the Monaghan area qualifiers. This shows how the level and demand for gymnastics is ever growing throughout all our communities. The competition this year is very strong and indeed this is only a small sample of all who have qualified in the area. Long may it continue! The county final is scheduled for this Sunday in Newbliss.
