The Tydavnet Drama production for 2017 is 'The Mating Season' by Sam Cree. This is
another of the humorous stage productions from Sam Cree and it is one that will draw
laughter, especially when performed by the members of this year's cast. There is
plenty of experience there and producers, Maura McCrudden and Pauric Connolly, have
brought out the best in them and in the play. The comedy revolves around widower,
Sid Gillespie, whose lady friend only agrees to take his hand in marriage if he gets
his family to move out of the house. In an attempt to get rid of them he tries to
marry them off to various women but it all goes wrong when all the women takes a
shine to Sid. Make sure you get to see it - you will have a good night of levity.
with the cast consisting of James Sherry, Elaine O'Donnell, Pat deery,. Seamus Treacy,
Laura Treanor, Raymond Connolly, Geraldine Watterson, Karen McCague, Caroline O'Regan
and Kelly Galligan. They have also a very strong and experienced backstage team looking
after Set, Sound and Lighting. Tickets for the Gagare Theatre performance are sold
out so Emyvale is a good alternative.
This staged performance comes to Emyvale Leisure Centre on Friday, March 10th and
this is a night you should not miss. It has been acclaimed as a fantastic night of
entertainment and full of laughs - so treat yourself to a good night and in the process
help raise funds for Crocus.
