Monaghan Top Ten Foodie Destination 2017

Due to the great local produce and excellent dining establishments, Monaghan was selected as a Restaurant Association of Ireland Top Ten Food Destination in 2016. Building on that great work from last year the Monaghan Food Network have been busy promoting all the fantastic local produce and building a calendar of Taste events for Monaghan.

Thanks to the great work and effort of the Monaghan Food Network, we have been shortlisted as a RAI Top Ten Food Destination for 2017. We would like to build on this great achievement and aim for the Top Five this year. The public vote is worth 50% of the overall score - so we are asking you to show your support for your favourite foodie destination!

With YOUR HELP, we hope to make the Top Five. If you enjoy the cafes, restaurants, hotels and fresh local produce in Monaghan we are asking you to take 2 minutes to vote online via this link

All your help is greatly appreciated!

Monaghan Food Network Committee

On Friday, August 11th two of the Foodie Destinations judges arrived in town and paid a visit to various places and then attended in the Markethouse where a number of food producers/suppliers/providers had put on an exhibition. The Judges, Wendy Kavanagh and Zack Gallagher, chatted to the representatives of the companies present and presented the Certificate to Sean Redmond, Chairman of the Monaghan Food Network group, to mark Monaghan's achievement in reaching the top ten in Ireland. They also visited Castle Leslie as part of their mission. We hope that they were impressed with what they saw and heard and tasted and that Monaghan can climb the ladder in this competition.
