The Gary Run 2023: The sixth annual Run To Remember Gary Askin took place on Friday 4th August at 7.00pm. The 5km walk/run started and finished at Emyvale GAA Grounds, including the path round Emy Lake. Refreshments were served afterwards and awards to the 1st runner home. The event was free to enter with all donations going towards three very worthy charities. This year the chosen charities are Errigal Truagh Special Needs Children’s Camp, Monaghan Cardiac First Responders Group & The Irish Kidney Association. You can donate on the day or online via the link below if you wish. https://www.gofundme.com/f/mth7v-6th-annual-run-to-remember-gary-askin The 2023 Run has been a great success with huge numbers taking part and all ages were represented. There is always a great social occasion both before and after the Run/Walk with people standing around chatting, which adds to the occasion. Not only has the numbers of participants increased but the donations have been excellent and some are still coming in. Great praise must go to the organisers and Gary’s family and friends for the excellent manner in which the event was so well planned and executed and a great thanks too to all who have donated the money, which will soon be presented to the three charities mentioned above.
