Saturday, May 6th was a big day in the life of some students from St. Mary's NS,
Glaslough, when 12 of them received their First Communion. The ceremony held in Glennan,
with Fr. Hubert as celebrant, was a lovely meaningful event with all twelve pupils
involved in the liturgy. Other pupils from the school were members of the excellent
choir under the director Angela Fahy with Patricia McGonnell on organ. Parents and
family members were present and the some of them were also involved in the liturgy.
Fr. Hubert spoke to the pupils during his homily stressing the importance of the
occasion in their lives and he thanked the teachers and parents for preparing the
children so well for the sacrament. Outside the sun shone with a clear blue sky and
not a cloud to be seen.
