Donagh Basketball Club Quiz

Donagh Basketball Club organised a very successful table Quiz in Paul’s Bar, Emyvale, on Friday March 4th. A big number of tables enjoyed the social aspect and the challenges posed by Noel Kelly, the Question Master. The main purpose, to raise funds for the Club, was also successful and contributors can be assured that the money will be well spent by this very active club, which caters for a large group of young people in various age groups from U13 to Under 16. Well done to all involved. See below for club report.

Donagh Basketball Table Quiz

On Friday night last, Donagh Basketball Club held their inaugural annual table quiz in Paul’s Bar Emyvale.  The night was a huge success and we would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their contributions.

 To Paul McMeel, for providing the premises and the food, Noel Kelly our quiz master for running a very entertaining event, and all of the 24 people who sponsored the rounds of questions;

Thanks also to Mary Rafferty, Barry McKenna, Town of Monaghan Co-Op and Rosin Treanor for providing raffle prizes and Glyn and Grainne for preparing the refreshments.

 In particular, we would like to thank all of those who turned up on the night to take part and help make the night such crack,  seventeen teams took part in a very closely fought quiz.  And while teams like “Loose Women” and “Even Looser Men” pushed it all the way the eventual winning places were as follows;

3rd place: “Where’s Eugene”

2nd Place: “Unlucky for Some”

1st Place: “Titanic Swimming Club” (Brian Hughes, Paul Hamill, Martin McKenna and Paul Treanor) who generously donated the prize money back to the club.

A grand total of €2400 was raised on the night so once again thank you one and all.
