MURPHY TAKES HIS SECOND ULSTER ROAD RACE TITLE
Conor Murphy from Emyvale riding for Dublin based team Euro Baby team took the Ulster Senior Cycling Championship Sunday last on a grueling 20 km circuit near Belfast. Murphy had a point to prove after his disappointing performance in the All Irelands held by local club Emyvale c.c around the Knockatallon hills on the 26th of June.
From the off he was stuck in the middle of the action and finally the elastic broke, and Conor and 7 companions went clear close to the half way mark in this 110 km race. With the likes of S Downey, best placed Irish Rider in this years Ras; J Mc Convey, who untill recently was riding for the Sean Kelly An Post Team, and Conors Team Mate Adam Armstrong, the winner of this years 5 day tour of the North, to name but a few.
Attack after attack saw these four shed the other three riders with one lap to go. With All four gunning for the Ulster titlle, tactics, speed and power came to the fore and Conor had all three and took his Second Ulster Senior title. The last was in 2004.
Asked when he was lifting the Geordie Wilkes Cup, which title did he enjoy winning the most he said this one {2011} as the opposition was alot tougher this time around. Well done Conor.

Conor also got a brand new set of Wheels sponsored by POUNDHILL SUPERVALU AUGHNACLOY. With the amount of mileage Conor covers eg. 10 to 15 thousand miles a year, all the support is needed and a big thank you goes to POUND HILL SUPERVALU AUGHNACLOY for their continued support.
