Monaghan contributed over 2,000 participants to the 150,000 people who turned out
nationally for the Darkness into Light walk for Pieta House on Saturday, May 6th
2017. HQ at Monaghan Harps Club complex is ideal as few places could facilitate such
a gathering with the facilities available there and the Club, led by Sean McKenna,
and their helpers must be congratulated on the marvellous planning and implementation
of such a major event. Everything went very smoothly and the weather was ideal with
the light rising at the very appropriate time. Hopefully the involvement of so many
participants will help to save lives during the coming year and that Pieta House
will be able to provide for those who require the services offered by the organisation.
The Pieta Walk in Monaghan was a great family event with a huge number of young adults
taking part which is a terrific response for such a great cause. Well done all.
