Rugby Team in Town

The Irish Rugby Team with manager and backroom staff visited Monaghan for a couple of days this past week and on Friday, February 17th they provided the public with an opportunity to meet and greet at the Monaghan Rugby HQ at Rafeenan. A huge crowd snapped up the tickets for the occasion very quickly and no one was disappointed. The weather was excellent for the occasion though the rain tried to break through at one stage. The players were all very accommodating to all requests for signings on all sorts of backgrounds and allowed selfies and photos for which there was great demand. The public observed the training session and a game and enjoyed the occasion. Monaghan Rugby Club must be praised for the manner in which they organised the visit and the programme on the day and all the parking and access requirements. It was a great day for Rugby in Monaghan and  a great day for Monaghan which got very good national exposure through the media as a result. Our images, by Gregory Murphy, show some of the players and some of the spectators.

Thanks to Gregory Murphy for the images.
