The Shed a Load in Ballinode came to a great conclusion on Sunday, March 12th with
a 5K run/walk starting from the Community Centre and arriving back there. Participants
in the Shed A Load health and fitness programme, organised by Ballinode Community
Projects, took part along with friends and runners/walkers from local and other areas.
In all it was a good turn-out on a day which threatened rain at times but which stayed
dry until all the running and walking was done. There was a very fast finish by winner
- Paul Peppard and there were great finishes by some who set themselves the Shed
a Load challenge. The relief and satisfaction on faces coming over the line told
how pleased they were with themselves for having completed the course. There were
plenty of refreshments afterwards and plenty of chat and socialising which is just
as important on such occasions. Well done to the organisers for a job well done.
