Monthly Talk Our next monthly talk is this Friday, 21st September in the Garage theatre at 11am. It will be given by Fiona Gilliland, physiotherapist, on the very important subject of ‘Dem Bones’ and how to look after them. Tea and coffee will be available. Come along and learn how to look after your bones. Trip to Kerry The pick- up time for the trip to Kerry is 8.30 in McNally’s car park, opposite the shopping centre, on Monday 24th September. Please note that there is no pick-up in Ballinode. Book Club The next meeting is this Thursday September 20th in the Four Seasons hotel at 2.30.  All welcome. Walks The walk on Wednesday, 26th September is to Emy Lough.  Meet at lough car park at 10.30am. Party Keep free Thursday, October 4th for a Get Together at Gortakeegan. All U3A members welcome. Meet at 6.30pm, food served at 7.00pm Coffee Morning, every Thursday, around eleven, in Graham’s Coffee shop. Flower Arranging will take pace in Gortakeegan on the following dates: Wednesday October 24th, November 7th, November 21st and December 5th. Classes will take place from 2.00pm to 4.00pm. If interested, contact Flo on 0863205941 before October 14th. Classes, all classes will take place in Gortakeegan unless otherwise stated. Monday: Gaeilge, Irish language conversation classes resumed on Monday 17th from 2.30 – 3.30. Sculpture in Alison Bole’s studio, afternoon. Tuesday: Choir at 11.30 French at 2.15pm. Beginners and advanced welcome. Wednesdays: Art with Celia Richards from 2.30 -4.30 Spanish 2.30 in Andy’s bar. Thursday: Flexibility and fitness, Gym club, Milltown Business park at 9.30am. Cards will resume in Tydavnet Community centre on Wednesday October 24th. Anyone interested should text Louis on 0868779466 Bowls We had a demonstration of Bowls at Gortakeegan recently. About twenty people turned up and were very enthusiastic until the rain came! We may leave outdoor bowls until the Spring and more clement weather. Meanwhile indoor bowls are on in Knockatallon on Mondays at 8.00pm A trip is being arranged to the NCH, Dublin for a matinee performance of ‘Carousel’ on November 17th. More details will follow later. As the year goes on we hope to arrange classes in Yoga, Photography, Tai Chi, Pilates, Computers and dancing. If anyone has suggestions for classes and/or is willing to take them or knows someone who might do so, please contact any member of the committee or 0873432275 with your suggestion. Song Fest. We are delighted to announce that Monaghan U3A will host Song Fest 2019 on Wednesday 10th April. Travel Vouchers Have you ever thought you wanted to give your friends in the U3A a gift but didn’t know what to give?
