Monaghan V Cavan Minors in Ulster Championship Quarter-final 2017

This is a game Monaghan should have, could have and were expected to win but through their own mistakes, and blistering attacks by Cavan, Monaghan were defeated on a score of 3 - 14 to 1 - 15. It took Monaghan quite a while to settle but when they got going the pulled back the Cavan lead and went in at the interval in front. However the defence crumbled, and midfield was overshadowed in the second half and Cavan's attacks ended in the back of the Monaghan net twice to put the game beyond the visitors. Robbie McAllister scored a good goal but Cavan finished the stronger as Monaghan faded. All in all it was a good game from a spectators point of view though at times became very tough and hard tackling. There were quite a number of delays for injuries and perhaps the fouls could have been awarded earlier rather than playing an advantage when there was so much passion on display.
