EMYVALE
Championship V Killeevan
On Friday, June 8th Emyvale played Killeevan in the Championship and it was played at Tyholland. It was a dark, damp and miserable evening for football and more like winter. Emyvale took control early and went into the interval with a score of 2 - 6 to 0 - 5. However the second half went down hill and Emyvale seemed to ease the foot back off the trottle and began to make mistakes and act too casual. Had Killeevan steadied themselves at this time they could have got back into the game and even went on to win. The final score was 2 - 9 to 0 - 7 and this shows the poor quality of that second half. I really must get a new rule book for the game of football as I am totally confused by the rules being applied at the moment. Ten steps with the ball seems OK and punching the opponent in the chest to dislodge the ball is Ok and bring a man to the ground and lie on tip of him is also Ok. It is no wonder that players get frustrated during a game where rules are applied differently and then Red cards have to be produced.
