Crocus Concert: Martin Maguire and his hard working team organised another Musical Extravaganza in the Westenra Hotel in aid of Crocus on Sunday, December 29th 2019. Martin is also leading the formation of a Mens’ Group in Crocus and it is gaining in numbers and hopefully more and more males, who have been diagnosed with Cancer or going through treatment for Cancer or who have had Cancer will become part of that group. Crocus offers a wide range of services for Cancer patients and their families free of charge and these can make the journey through Cancer much easier to deal with. Crocus receives no financial aid from Government or HSE and depends solely on donations from the public in order to continue providing this terrific service to men and women. To date the general public have been extremely generous and many with cancer, who availed of the Crocus services, have benefitted from the services offered. The Concert attracted a full house and the artists gave the audience a wonderful and varied night of music and song. Paula McAree, Amelia McCormack,Bronagh McCabe, Evelyn Bourton, Clara Rose and her band with Mum, Elizabeth, and Rico’s Groove completed a terrific line up of talent and entertainment enjoyed by all. There were plenty of prizes and items auctioned and all under the control and excellent presentation of MC for the night, Colin Walker. Well done to all.
