Crocus Donations: On Sunday, September 4th, two events took place and both events will be presenting a donation to Crocus in due course. The first event began at 11.30am when a large gathering of Motorcyclists assembled at Sam’s Bridge filling station. This Motorbike Run was organised by the local Club, Bad Examples, led by Vice President Andy Treanor and members of other clubs from around Ulster joined in. There was also another Run organised for a very worthy cause and that meant that the numbers were shared between the two groups. However, this one headed off towards Enniskillen, Belleek, Ballybofey and Donegal and we hope they had a safe and enjoyable trip and we thank them for raising funds for Crocus. The second event was held at Killydonnelly when Benny McCabe held an Open Day at his Vintage Museum. The Museum is a wonderful collection of vintage from Cars, Tractors, farm machinery to every item imaginable for the farmhouse. With some of the items there is a display of the various developments over the years to carry out a task and it is a massive collection of historic importance. For us older generation walking through the display areas brings us back to our youth and recalls the tough days in the fields or haggard from cutting the corn to churning the milk and the funny thing is that it brings a smile to the face. Members of Crocus were there to provide all visitors with tea/coffee and a huge array of tempting food. Thankfully the weather was terrific and hopefully the total number of visitors will have been huge too. Well done to Benny and family and all the helpers from the Vintage Club for providing the public with a wonderful way of spending some time on a Sunday afternoon and thanks to Benny for donating to Crocus and thanks to those who subscribed.
