DeravoyNS Xmas 2019: On Wednesday, December 18th the pupils of Deravoy NS staged their now annual Christmas production in Carrickroe Community Centre. There were two sections - Section 1 saw the younger children sing and perform the Nativity story but with various inclusions and plenty of songs. It was terrific to watch the youngsters have the confidence to do their parts and show that they were enjoying the challenge. This was followed by three different groups of musicians, growing in numbers and ability each time and their rendition of Fairy Tale in New York drew great applause from the full house audience. It is wonderful to hear what their tutor can achieve in a short space of time. There was a break for refreshments then and this was followed by Section 2 which was a story about ‘Sasha Got Swept Up The Chimney’. which had great costumes, great acting, great humour, great numbers of participants, great singing and a fantastic showcase of the talent and education in Deravoy NS. Well done to all involved and that includes the teachers and staff who organised all. During the interval there was very good news announced by Keith Treanor, chairperson of the Parents Association, when he presented ten new Ipads to the school to assist in the development of technology in the school. These came about as a result of fundraising by the parents expecially through the Colour Run last Easter. These were presented to Principal, Ms. Currie, who expressed the sincere thanks of all in the school for this fantastic donation.
