Silver Hill Agree 5 Year Partnership with TU Dublin Silver Hill Duck are delighted to announce their new strategic partnership with Technological University Dublin (TU Dublin). This is in advance of the University moving into a new 73-acre state of the art campus opening up in the heart of Dublin that will host more than 20,000 third level students. In line with Silver Hill Ducks strategic growth plans, this is an opportunity for TU Dublin and Silver Hill Duck to develop a mutually beneficial partnership to raise awareness of Silver Hill Ducks products, tap into the next generation of Chefs in Ireland and celebrate current success and vision for the future. In October 2019, 50 TU Dublin students from a range of programmes in the School of Culinary Arts and Food Technology visited Silver Hill Duck for the Silver Hill Experience. On the day the students got an overview of the company followed by a tour around the Production Plant. They also got the opportunity to taste some of the Award-Winning Products. Announced on the day was the ‘Silver Hill Duck Competition’ which will focus on a New Product Development. Following TU Dublins visit to Silver Hill Duck, in December, a two-part learning day attended by 100 culinary arts students and industry practitioners took place in TUD Campus. This involved an insightful cooking demonstration of the Silver Hill Duck by Celebrity Chef Jason Li. Jason cooked up two duck dishes and explained every detail of the process to the students. They all had the chance to taste the best duck in the world also. This partnership with TU Dublin and Silver Hill Duck is to shape future graduates and prepare them for life and work in a rapidly changing business environment. This coming March the Silver Hill Duck Competition will be held in TU Dublin, with a focus on New Product Development. Students are to register the dish and recipe with a brief explanation. The selection will be based on excellence but also availability of the candidate to cook off in TU Dublin on the given date. There will be a shortlist for the applications, narrowing down to 6 finalists based on Celebrity Chef Jason Li and Silver Hill’s judgement. The selected students will attend the cook off. Prize will be €1000 and an opportunity to launch their product into market.
