Val Forde Memorial Cup. Each year the Emyvale Juvenile GAA Club organises a Blitz for U8 players, male and female, and the winning team is presented with the Val Forde Cup. This event took place in Tully on Saturday evening last, November 30th and to add to the experience it was played under Lights. Four teams were involved and from the Throw-in to the final whistle of every game there was a terrific show of commitment and determination from every player. There were many excellent displays of football skills and there was a great sporting atmosphere throughout. One unique and excellent happening was that each team was managed by ‘mammies’ and from that experience some of them could be signed up to manage some other juvenile squads this year. After the final Declan Force presented the Val Forde Cup to the winning team and complimented the players, their parents and all the people who helped run the competition. This was the first event for the new Juvenile Chairman, Shane McCormack, and with a great team behind him the blitz went off very smoothly and was enjoyed by all. There was plenty of food then for all but not until after Santa arrived and handed a gift to all the players. Well done to all.
