Glaslough Duathlon 2019: This event is organised by the family and friends of the Late Kieran McAree and 2019 was another very successful year as a big crowd of participants took part and the weather was good for the occasion. The base is in the Galslough Oakland Centre and the event consists of 2.5km run, a 20km cycle and another 2.5km run. The course can be completed solo or as a team of two. At the end the Junior winners were: Eoin McKenna and Sean McCabe. The team event was won by Patrick J McKenna and Barry McGuirk. The Ladies section was won by Lisa Clerkin followed by Catriona O’Brien and Sharon McKenna. The Men’s section was won by Oran McGee, with Fergus McGirr in 2nd and Michael Flood in 3rd. The prizes were presented by members of the McAree family who then presented the proceeds to SOSAD, which was represented by Stephen Dalton.
