Glaslough Races 2020 which took place on Sunday, March 1st was a special event as it was also celebrating the 75th year of Glaslough Harriers and the 40th year of this event. Juvenile races came first and athletics will survive judging by the huge numbers involved. Very often the parents become more excited than the child but then they wanted a victory. The Special Needs race was won for the 9th consecutive year by Padraig Kelly which was a great achievement. The seniors race also attracted a big number, possibly the biggest in its history and it was ironic that the winning time was a new record - set by Yared Derese, Carrick aces with a time of 14:24 for the 5k. Sean Husband was in 2nd place and Fearghal Delaney in 3rd. Oran McGee was the first Glaslough Harrier home at 16:36. It was a terrific day of activity and a very appropriate way of celebration.
