County Minor Final: It was a fantastic day in Clones on Sunday, October 20th 2019 when a 69 year gap was bridged by a fine bunch of U17’s as they brought Emyvale to victory in the County U17 Championship final and also sealing a double victory as they had already won the Div 1 League back in July. Congratulation to the entire team and I include the mentors and the parents who supported and encouraged their sons. It was a pleasure to watch each and every player committing himself completely to the game and displaying excellent skills and confident play, especially when the team was under extreme pressure from a strong and equally committed Latton side. It was also great to see huge spectator support from Emyvale and I am sure they all were proud of their representatives on the field. Congratulations to Ben Ryan for winning Man-of-the-Match The selectors of this award must have had a very difficult task as there were so many powerful displays but they made the right decision. Too often the Minor final before the Senior game fails to excite but this one certainly did as the roars from the crowd bore testament. It is a day that many will remember, a day for the history book and a day that the Late Seamus McCluskey would have enjoyed with pride. More HERE
