Launch of Monaghan GAA Strategic Plan 2010 - 2013.
The first ever Strategic Plan for Monaghan GAA was launched at a gathering in the Hillgrove Hotel, Monaghan, on Tuesday, Nov 9th. Present for the launch were Paraic Duffy, Árd-Stiurthoir CLG; Aogan Ó Fearghail, Uachtarán Chomhairle Uladh; Paul Curran, County Chairman; County Board officials and club representatives. Present too were some public representatives.
The occasion was introduced by Facilitator for the compilation of the Strategy, Cathal Hand. Paul Curran gave a more in-depth summary of the Strategy. Aogan O’ Fearghail congratulated Monaghan on a fine production and a great vision which was challenging but achievable. He pointed to some very important aspects included in the Plan which included the opening out to all sections of the community. The keynote speech was delivered by Paraic Duffy, who also congratulated those responsible for the drawing up of this plan and he wished the County Board every success with its implementation. All areas of the association are covered including Governance, Finance, Communications, Integration, Infrastructure, Club and Community Development, Culture and Heritage, Fixtures, Hurling, Coaching, Youth and Schools. The objectives in all of these areas has been planned and targets for the future have been set. This Plan is the result of many hours of work and input from all stakeholders in the county and in the words of Paul Curran -’working together we in this county can reach our full potential’. He added that he also believed ‘that with the proper leadership and with the commitment of each member, we can enjoy implementing this plan as well as enjoy the success that will result’.
