Boxing Tournament in St. Mellans
As part of the Truagh Festival Bank Holiday weekend at St. Mellans Emyvale Boxing Club held a Boxing Tournament in the Big Marquee on Friday, April 29th. A good crowd turnout and the boxers provided a great programme of tough boxing and very close contests. The surroundings were great for the event and there was a real boxing arena atmosphere. Ciaran Treanor and myself shared the duties as MC and everything went according to plan. After the Boxing there were two bouts of Mud-wrestling in the Marquee and Ann and Caoimhe showed they were not afraid to get their hair dirty. Christopher and Patrick were like the proverbial pigs in ..... and did not hold back on mixing with the mud.
Oisin Treanor was named Emyvale Boxer of the Night and his dad, Michael collects the trophy for him. It is presented by Ciaran Treanor.
