Mary McKenna’s 90th Birthday
I would like to send best wishes and a very happy birthday wish to Mary McKenna,
Oriel park, Emyvale, who will celebrate her 90th birthday this week. She was in her
daughter’s, Geraldine’s, house on Sunday for a family get-together and party. I called
in to deliver my birthday wish personally and get a wee photo or two. Mary has been
a great friend of mine down through the years and many a laugh we had when she attended
the Emyvale Bingo. She is also a great community person and was a leading exponent
of the Tidy Towns effort when Emyvale participated in that competition and was always
active in her approach. Cecelia had prepared a Red Book of - This is Your Life -
and it is a very full record of the first 90 years and it will testify to her involvement
in community activity as the photo taken when she entered the ‘Lovely legs’ competition
shows.
Again Mary - Happy Birthday to you and I hope you had a very enjoyable day
and hopefully too that we can have another good laugh together soon.
