Pat’s Gardens: Pat McKenna, Emy, has been busy of late and it was not a paintbrush he had in his hand but a great idea in his head of producing a garden space with biodiversity central to the planning. One garden area complete he then proceeded to develop a second and already the flowers are in bloom and the birds, bees and many other native insects are taking up residence in both gardens. He wants to thank his ‘Project manager’, Willie Crampton. Pat has ideas for further development in the gardens and looking forward to next year when these should show results. He is also looking forward to picking the fruit from the variety of fruit trees and shrubs he has planted in the front garden and, when Covid allows, he hopes to have an ‘official Opening’ at an early date. Pat has certainly set a high standard for others who might want to turn their gardens into attractive natural areas where man and wild life can co-exist.
