21st Birthday
EUCU Trading was set up in 1999 by Vincent McQuaid and
his father Sean McQuaid (RIP) The premises is based in
North Co Monaghan near the village of Glaslough.
The business was formed primarily to supply the various
self-indigenous industries in the county at the time, eg
furniture, poultry and mushroom industries, with products
like wood screws, fastening, power tool adhesive products,
janitorial products and safety workwear and footwear.
Over the intervening years the business has survived the
economic downturn and expanded its product range into
packaging, personnel protection and first aid.
In 2014 the business formed another division called EUCU
Chemtrade, which specializes in the supply of chemical, solvent
and excipient materials into the Pharma Food and Water
Treatment and leisure industries to name but a few. The business
has evolved since 1999 and the next few years will definitely see
changes to the way we all do business. Over the years in
business EUCU has built up a strong relationship with suppliers
and now as an essential service endeavors to provide efficient
and reliable service to its customers.
Speaking to us Vincent McQuaid stated: ‘2020 has been an
extremely challenging year for all aspects of business and it is
incumbent on all of us to support as many of our local business
as possible,.particularly coming up to the Christmas season with
so many uncertainties about what this years celebrations will look
like. With all the various business challenges that EUCU has seen
in its 21 years, the global pandemic that is coronavirus has
undoubtable been the biggest challenge to date. If we all support
each other, we can survive this’.
To celebrate EUCU’s 21st birthday the staff had planned some
celebrations but with the coronavirus limitations they had to find
another way to mark this year. They ran a Facebook competition for a €100 voucher in Maurice Grahams instead. The winner was
Jeanette Mullen and she was delighted with her prize. Happy spending Jeanette!!
EUCU would like to thank all our customers and suppliers for their continued support, especially this year working in such difficult
circumstances. Stay safe
