The 2023 GP, organised by Emyvale Cycling Club, took place on Sunday, September 3rd, and as usual this was a very successful event with big numbers taking part and the event running smoothly. The Club members spent plenty of hours planning and organising and making sure every aspect was covered. A big number of people are needed to act as volunteer marshals for the route and to assist with the smooth and safe running of the event. The Club must be congratulated for the successful running of the event and for attracting such a huge number of participants. The route for the event was changed and brought back to a former route which proved successful and challenging. It was also of great assistance to be able to use the parking area and grounds at the Emyvale GAA centre at Tully and to have the support of An GARDA, ensuring safety at all times. I stopped at some locations around the circuit and tool some pics of riders and they are in no particular order of finishing. However I missed a few groups and was unable to be at the finishing line where there is always great excitement and fantastic to see the mighty effort the cyclists make to gain ground on the person in front of them.
