The President of Ireland pays a visit to Glaslough to congratulate them for winning the National Title of the Tidiest Town in Ireland in 2019.
What a wonderful event in Glaslough on May 18th when our President Michael D. Higgins, with his wife Sabina, arrived to congratulate and celebrate Glaslough’s achievement in the Tidy Towns competition. He had a wonderful reception from the youth of the area and gave a very meaningful talk to the huge number in attendance. Well done to all involved in the presentation of the event and I want to pay particular credit to Garreth, Louise and the other members of the committee who were involved in the organisation. Thanks too to Monaghan County Council personnel for their contribution to the event. It was clear that from the singing of Beautiful Glaslough until he headed back to Dublin our President and Sabina really enjoyed the event. Well done all.
