Staging Drama has been a Tydavnet ritual since the 1950’s and an annual event since 1986. In 2003
Tydavnet Drama Troupe performed Sive, by John B. Keane and it was hailed as a great success and over
the years since then they have presented various productions and each one drew the crowds and
everyone enjoyed the performances. This year they have decided to present SIVE again, this time
produced by the well-known and experienced Pat Deery and no doubt this will be another great
performance and well worth seeing. The cast are no strangers on stage and this will add to the
performance so a great night is in store. It will be staged in Tydavnet Community Centre on the 19th,
24th and 26th of February, in the Garage Theatre on the 2nd and 3rd of March and the in Iontas,
Castleblayney, on 2nd of April. With all these performances you will have no excuse for missing the
show.
The cast has the following people involved: Maura McCrudden, Oisin Treanor, Caolan Treanor, Seamus
Tracey, Andreas Kildea, Paddy Sherry, Odhran Sherlock, Hugh Sherlock, Paddy Sherlock, Kellie Galligan,
Pat Deery, Mary Sherlock Elaine O’Donnell, Sean McQuilan, Laura Treanor and Karen McCague and then
the same number of people in the wings making sure that everything runds smoothly. I attended on
Friday 24th February and thoroughly enjoyed the top class performance from each and every one of the
cast even though the story ended sadly. Minister Humphreys was in the audience and enjoyed the
production and congratulated all involved with a special word for the producer, Pat Deery. Further
shows coming up in The Garage Theatre and Iontas gives people a further opportunity to experience
this production. We have some images of some of those in attendance.
