Book Reading Local historian Mackie Rooney from Scotstown will be
reading extracts from his books “A Sliabh Beagh and North Monaghan
Miscellany” in the Emyvale Leisure Centre on Wednesday, November
5th, at 8.30pm. His comprehensive, three-volume collection captures
the stories, struggles, and traditions of North Monaghan across
centuries.It is a fascinating collection of local events, folklore and
history. Books will be available on the night and Mackie will be pleased
to sign copies. Tea and biscuits served. Everyone very welcome.
