Ploughing Competition.
Monaghan Veteran and Vintage Club organised its annual Ploughing Competition on Bank Holiday Monday, October 26th. It was held in Anthony McCarron’s field at Knockronaghan. The weather on the day was dry but there had been quite an amount of rainfall during the previous week. However the conditions were good despite the weather and a big crowd turned out for the event. We applaud John and Mervyn Stewart from Dunfanaghy, Co. Donegal, who were there with their two donkeys and they were top class at the job. It is a pity that more people do not attend just to spectate and see these machines being put through their scores. We offer you some photos of the occasion.
