EMYVALE
A BIKE FOR EVERY GRADE AND GRADIENT.
Emyvale has a great tradition of cycling, both competitive and as a means of transport. In the 60’s there were two bicycle shops in the village, one run by Francie McQuaid (not the tyre man) and the other a well-known landmark – Hollands Bicycle Shop where the Chinese Restaurant is now.
The Emyvale Cycling Club is famous all over Ireland and the exploits and achievements of the club members is legendary. It has had a continuous and successful history for many decades and it is currently held in high esteem throughout the Irish Cycling world.
One man who has given sterling service both as rider and administrator of the Emyvale Club is George McCarron who has turned his hobby into a business and has a thriving Cycle Shop in Emyvale Enterprise Centre.
George caters for all – whether for sport, transport or leisure – and for all age groups – tricycles, stabilisers, small bicycles, big bikes, BMX and Scramblers, and top of the range racing bikes. There are commuter bikes and folding electric bikes, bikes with gears and bikes with suspension, and if it is not in stock George can get it in for you.
Recently the Government introduced a scheme whereby an employer can pay up to €1,000 to provide an employee with a bicycle and safety equipment for going to work and there will be no tax liability. George is a registered supplier for this service.
Racing, time-trial and touring bikes come in many different shapes, sizes and made from a variety of base metals and there is a great choice of various component parts to suit everyone’s needs and pocket.
There is also an unlimited range of accessories including clothing, safety gear, energy bars and drinks, and many other useful and essential items.
George also provides a repair service and is always willing to give advice to anyone interested in taking up cycling as a sport or for leisure. He can also supply Gift Vouchers which can be purchased as a present for someone.
Pay George a visit in his well stocked shop at Emyvale Enterprise Centre.
