Stepping Stones Project.
On Monday, Dec 7th in the Blackwater Valley Centre there was a major get-together of those involved in the Stepping Stones Project. This project was funded by the International Fund for Ireland, managed by Northern Ireland Rural Development Council under the Integrating Community Organisations Programme. Brian Treanor of Truagh Development Association explained the background to the project and described some of the activity undertaken by the groups involved. He described it as being very successful and gave brief details of the further work to be done. Main speaker was John O‘Driscoll and also present was Bill Nolan. Mr David Costello from the Department attended as did representatives from the various groups involved from Monaghan, Tyrone and Armagh. Complients were paid to the Staff of the Centre who served a very tasty and wholesome meal for the occasion.
