EMYVALE
Ryan Sheridan, our local solo singer / guitarist from Monaghan performed and signed
autographs in Sound Quality, Monaghan, yesterday afternoon and a huge crowd turned
out to greet this local star, to hear him sing and to get his autograph. It was a
great occasion and Ryan delighted the crowd with his relaxed presence and his easy
manner with all. Of course Ryan has close connections with the Emyvale area in that
his mother, Nellie, is one of the Meehans from Tamlet. She and her family attended
Edenmore National School. His uncle, Pat, has played a major role in the community
and with Truagh Gaels in particular.
Ryan sang a number of his songs accompanied of
course by his percussionist, Artur Graczyk, on the cajun. They then signed his name
on copies of his album and various other paraphernalia belonging to his many fans.
They say that a prophet is never recognised in his own town - Ryan proved that this
is not always the case as his popularity was plain to be seen in Sound Quality, and
again in the garage Theatre that night for a sell out performance. We congratulate
Ryan and wish him further success in his career.
