Monaghan Farmers Market - Every Friday in Church Square.
The Farmers Market held in Monaghan town every Friday morning is a success story
and one that we felt earned a mention on our site. If you have not already paid a
visit to this Market then you should and you will be very surprised at the range
of goods on offer and at the high quality of every item on sale. As well, it is worth
remembering that this is, for the most part, all local produce produced by locals
and you are therefore helping the local economy and giving local employment by your
support.
Fresh is a word that keeps coming up as you pass from stall to stall and
that is something we all look for as the taste will be so much better. Hand made
is another aspect which helps to ensure quality as opposed to mass-produced. There
is also uniqueness as there are items on sale at this Market that you will not find
anywhere else.
We paid a visit last week and spoke to some of the stall-holders and
we let them tell you why they are there and we show you a little of their produce.
Hopefully it will entice you to visit yourself and make up your own mind. The Market
is organised by a local committee and Jenny Blackburn is a member and she introduces
us to the Market. Click on the people photos to hear the story.
