Honda Run 2010.

Donagh Development Association held their now annual Honda 50/70/90 run on Sunday July 4th. Proceeds go to the fund to complete the walkway around Emy Lake. This committee has done trojan work to get this project under way and are sticking with it to completion and thankfully the end may now be in sight. Sunday’s event will help to finish this eagerly awaited and hugely beneficial facility to the North Monaghan area.

There was a little confusion as to the starting time but sign-on began at 12 noon at the Red Boys, which was the HQ for the event. Shortly after 2pm the cavalcade of riders headed off and over the following hours covered about 70 mile in total. It seems a couple of engines refused to go the entire distance but help was at hand. The trip took them to Glaslough, Tydavnet, Scotstown. Knockatallon, Bragan, Aughnacloy and Emyvale and manys a townland in between. The weather was difficult with showers and a strong wind. Refreshments were available at the beginning, the middle and the end. Well done to all involved.
