A big crowd took part in the Emy Belles unique and imaginative fundraiser for the local branch of Aware, which supports people affected by depression. The last months of the decade were celebrated with the 2010 walk on the 20th day of the 10th month of 2010 at 20.10 sharp. Some ran and some walked– yes you guessed it – 10 laps or 20 laps of the GAA Pitch at Tully! A collection box was available for a suggested donation of €10 or €20, or whatever anyone wished to give to this worthwhile charity. Mary Shannon and Anna Mohan of AWARE were present and accepted the funds raised from Chairperson of the Emy Belles, Geraldine Watterson. After the Walk/Run there was a refreshing cup of tea/coffee and some eats for everyone. Well done to all involved and to the organisers. Also thanks to the person in charge of an excellent Fireworks display at the stroke of 2010 on 2010 of 2010. Thanks too to Pauric Treanor and Emyvale GFC for the use of facilities.
