Tour Of Monaghan 2010.
The now annual Tour of Monaghan cycle run, sponsored by Universal Graphics of Emyvale,
was held on Sunday, Sept 26th 2010. Almost 70 cyclists took part and among them were
some newcomers and many of the ‘old hands’. Neighbouring clubs supported the event
and Carrickmacross had a very strong contingent signed in. There were two routes
and it ended with about half completing the long route while the others took the
short-cut home, though it was no short-cut unless you regard 40 mile as short. There
was a great team of marshals and support with water-stops and refreshments of tea/coffee
and sandwiches.
We would like to wish every health and happiness to Barry and Linda
who tie the knot on Saturday October 2nd. Barry is a great club member and has been
involved in many aspects of club development especially with juveniles. He will obviously
be missing for a few weeks now but hopefully it wont be long till he is back in action.
We hope they have a lovely day and that a bright future is in store for them.
