Retirement Party fo Kathleen Murray
Kathleen Murray, a carer and ward assistant in Monaghan General Hospital, has retired
and her friends organised a Retirement Party for her in the Sliabh Beagh Hotel on
Saturday, April 2nd. The high esteem in which she is held was very evident from the
huge numbers who turned out to say ‘thank you’ to Kathleen for her service to the
public, especially the sick people who used Monaghan General Hospital during her
years there. Everyone wished her every happiness and everything good in the years
ahead. She was presented with a gift and a bouquet of flowers by her colleagues.
MC Patricia McKenna did an excellent job and the food which was served by the Hotel
was very tasty and enjoyable. A special poem was written by poetess Maureen Clerkin,
and she ‘brought the house down’ when she recited it for all present. Kathleen then
thanked everyone for their kindness and recalled some of the highlights of her career
and the people she worked with and for. The night continued with lively dancing till
the wee hours.
We would like to wish Kathleen a long and relaxing retirement and thank
her for being so kind and attentive to patients. Her chirpy voice and good humour
would always lift the spirits and her caring attitude soothed many a tender heart.
