Emyvale District Credit Union Ltd.
Emyvale District Credit Union Ltd celebrated 50 years in operation on Saturday July 16th 2011. Charlie McGettigan from Northern Sound Radio presented his Saturday Show live from the Offices of the Credit Union on Main Street. There was plenty of chat and entertainment from 10am to 12 noon and the great benefits of the Credit Union came across loud and clear. The story of the Credit Union movement in Emyvale has been a very successful one thanks to the diligence of the volunteers who run the Credit Union and those who have and are staff members. Charlie, in his very relaxed and pleasant way, interviewed community leaders from the catchment area of Truagh, Donagh and part of Tyholland parish. Entertainment was provided by local artists and artists from Dublin and Sligo. Food and refreshments were served and a good crowd of members called in to the office to congratulate and to enjoy some of the fare on offer. Further plans for the autumn are being finalised and we will bring you details later.
