Our congratulations and best wishes go to Barry McKenna, Derrygasson, Emyvale, on
the launch of his new business as the agent for New Holland tractors for Monaghan
and Louth. Situated on the Glaslough Road about half a mile from Emyvale the extensive
display of New Holland tractors was very impressive and the power behind those monsters
was difficult to imagine. It is a long way from the Ferguson T20 and the Massey 135
but that is progress and farming needs machinery like this to survive. These Tractors
come with all the comforts of a car and indeed surpass the car in many ways. Sound
is at a minimum inside the cab and it is much quieter than many cars. Suspension
is great and make it comfortable to sit in but then some of the workers will be sitting
in those cabs for many hours at a time as they try to get the silage in or whatever
else must be done while the weather permits.
Northern Sound and JF was there on Thursday
Dec 2nd to officially set the business on the public landscape and introduce the
new range of Holland tractors. A constant stream of visitors called and examined
the various tractors and enjoyed the refreshments served.
Barry is no stranger to
tractors and machinery as he has been in the business for many years and knows the
needs of the farming community. We wish him every success and hope that his business
will grow and grow.
