Thurs Nov. 11th was a very stormy night and 20 brave souls made it through the high winds to attend the Knockatallon Ramblers AGM. Secterary & Chairperson reported on another successfull year for the club with their involvement in the Estates Walk in Caledon and the Boots ‘n Bogs festival. The Treasurer’s report stated that the club was in a healthy state - no need for NAMA there then.
Election of officers was concluded with Bernie Monaghan as Chair, Steven Crotty as Vice Chair, Marie McQuillan Sec, Bernie Bogue Ass Sec. Mary Jo Early & Benny Maguire Treasurers, and Micheal Cronnin as PRO. There was a new sub-Committee set up to set out new programmes and away trips for the club for the coming year.
Our Invited Guest was Donal Lister, an Ecology tutor with MIFET, who gave a very interesting talk on ecology and his interest in paragliding.
The meeting concluded with some light refreshments.
The club would to thank the Sliabh Beagh Hotel for their hospitality and everyone
for making the effort of coming out on such a stormy night.
